Finally.... something blogworthy

So I haven't blogged in quite some time because nothing interesting has been going on. Just working in the yard and going to the movies and stuff. But this weekend we celebrated Jeff's birthday and had a super hero themed party. So here are a few pictures:

Just in case you are not up on your cartoon heros, this is Darkwing Duck and She-Ra.

Official Buyer for the Ragteam

What is Ragteam, you ask? Well, my talented neices have a site on Etsy, http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=7097833, where they sell quilts. They make the quilts out of old clothes that they find at Goodwill. Today I made my first trip to buy fabric for them. I managed to get a corduroy jacket, 4 pairs of corduroy pants, a corduroy shirt, two denim shirts and 2 denim dresses for about $40! Not bad, I think. I didn't find any cool colors, but the pants are blue, black, forest green and kind of a teal color. The corduroy shirt is white and the jacket is gray. The denim stuff is just plain denim, I didn't find any cool patterns or anything.

I tried to go to the Goodwill outlet where you can buy clothes and pay by the pound, but there was a stupid baseball game or something so I couldn't find a single place to park! OK, truth be told, I found a parking spot and was getting ready to pull in when these two hippies walked in front of me, and someone pulled in and took the spot even though they could see I was waiting for it. Grrr.

Happy Spring

Easter is over, so here is my new generic spring background. Although, it does not feel like spring here in the Seattle area. Rainy and cold. I could see my breath while waiting at the bus stop today. No, not in the morning! This afternoon. Oh, and it hailed a little too.

The forecast says sunny and 71 this weekend. I'll believe it when I see it!

Happy Easter!

Here I am with my awesome Easter basket. Jeff did a great job this year. He said he "got carried away" but I think it is just right! All of my favorite candies, including Cadbury Cream Eggs. Yum!

The Beach

Jeff and I just returned from a 5 day vacation at the beach in Manzanita, OR. We didn't take a lot of photos because we were mostly inside reading and watching movies because of the rain, but here are a few photos. Also, you can see photos of where we stayed here: http://www.coastcabins.com/oregon-coast-cabins-one.html It was a cute little place; just the right size for the two of us.

Here's Jeff and Emily watching some TV.

Here's Erin vegging on the couch.

Mom doing her crossword puzzles.

And here is the whole gang.

Pug Invasion!

Jeff and I spent last weekend pug sitting. Or, I should say, Jeff was pug sitting while I was fighting off the flu. Here are some photos.

This is Dozer. His favorite spot is on the back of the couch. He also has a small problem fitting his tongue in his mouth, even when his mouth is closed.

This is King, the geriatric pug. He pretty much sleeps all of the time. Here he is in Guen's bed, which she was nice enough to let him use during his stay.

And here is the whole gang. Jeff needed some company while reading.

Dozer took a few naps in Guen's bed as well. I think it is a little too big for him!

The Wild West

Our friends had their annual murder mystery party last weekend, and the theme was the Wild West. Jeff's character was a cheating gambler, and I was a famous singer. I don't have a lot of photos, but here are a few.
Here's Jeff and I in our costumes.
Our hostess, and barkeep at the local saloon, where the murder occurred.
And.....a traveling magician. Why not?
The executive bringing the railroad to this little Western town despite opposition from the Indians. You can't tell from this picture, but she is really angry at him!

The sherriff never did solve the crime, but he certainly looked the part.
