Fall = Football

We went to the Ducks season opener. They won 72-0! It was a great game and we were able to get there early and do some tailgating and have some hot dogs.

Whidbey Island

We just got back from our trip to Whidbey Island to run the Langley Half Marathon. It was a fun trip. We had never been to Whidbey Island before and Langley was a cute little town. They had an arts fair this weekend, so when we arrived on Saturday we walked around the arts fair for an hour or so. We bought a few small things. I got a small framed photograph for my cubicle and we bought some jam and checked in for our race. We had sandwiches at the Useless Bay Coffee Company. They have good sandwiches! We stayed at a place called the Boatyard Inn and it was very cute.

On Sunday we had the race. Their motto is "Gently Rolling Hills." ha ha, very funny. On every hill there was a little sign that said "Langley gently rolling hill." Someone has a sick sense of humor. Needless to say, it was not our fastest race. Still, we may go back next year and see if we can do better! Here are some photos of our trip :)

Leaving Mukilteo on the ferry.

At the arts fair!

At the starting line!

I'm baaaaack!

So my niece Allison pointed out that I have not blogged since December. Well, I have a really good excuse, but I won't bore you with the details. There really hasn't been much going on, until this month when the O'Rears ran 3 RACES! Wow! So I will tell you all about them!

May 2nd: Eugene Half Marathon We spent the weekend in Eugene and Sunday our race started at 7 am! I wanted to finish around 2:15, but I ended up finishing aroun 2:18. Not too bad. Jeff's goal was to finish, which he did! He is now hooked and we will be doing another half marathon in July.

Beat the Bridge to Beat Diabetes 8k, May 16th:
This race is the raise money for Type I diabetes. Our team raised $2,000!!! We were helped by donations by our parents, siblings, and friends. Thanks to everyone who donated!

It was a great event. Very well organized and lots of fun. I managed to beat the bridge! Yes, there is an actual drawbridge and they do open it. I managed to finish in 43:49. I don't have any photos of this race.

The Big Backyard 5K May 24th:
This was just yesterday. It was a fundraiser for King County Parks, who happen to be a client of my company. So we put together a team. We even got cool T-shirts made! Most people on our team walked, but I ran and had a time of 24:47, which is really fast for me. It was a nice, flat course so that really helped.

Living Room Project - the Tile is Done!

We got our tile installed today. For those of you not keeping track, so far we have removed the brick, removed the mortar, retextured the wall, painted, and now installed tile. Well, we hired someone to do the tile. The mantel is also painted and we will install it this weekend! Here are some photos. It looks AWESOME!
