Living room project is DONE!

We finally finished removing the brick from our living room wall. Here is the before photo, from when we moved in.

Here is a progress photo while we were removing bricks.

Here it is after all the bricks are down but the mortar is still up.

Then we removed all of the mortar, sanded the wall, sprayed on some new texture, and painted it. Here is the finished product!

New Project!

So I was cooped up in the house all weekend, thanks to the rain. And Jeff was off golfing, so I thought I would start an indoor project. We've been talking a long time about taking down the brick facade in our living room. So phase 1 is now complete. We removed all of the bricks. Now we have to remove the mortar, which will be more difficult and messier, but that is for another weekend! Here are some photos!

Things I Love Right Now

Yes, I know, I have not written in a while. This week has been a bit odd and a little difficult, so I thought I would write about things I love to cheer myself up!

  1. Guen and Jeff, of course. The sweetest puppy in the world and the best husband in the whole world. My best friends.
  2. Victoria, BC. Visited for the second time this weekend and it is just as beautiful as I remember it except this time it was sunny (most of the time)
  3. My new nightgown from the GAP. I have not been a nightgown girl in the past, but I bought this cute cotton one (on sale!) that is super soft and has little stars all over it. Perfect for those warm summer nights.
  4. The Seattle Sounders soccer team. Fun to watch and cheer for.
  5. My garden. It is coming along quite nicely.
  6. The new Renton off leash dog park. It is only a patch of rocky ground with a fence around it night now, but that is good enough for Guen. It was inspiring to see how quickly it came together and how the community supported it.
  7. Slurpees. (self explanatory, I think)

Finally.... something blogworthy

So I haven't blogged in quite some time because nothing interesting has been going on. Just working in the yard and going to the movies and stuff. But this weekend we celebrated Jeff's birthday and had a super hero themed party. So here are a few pictures:

Just in case you are not up on your cartoon heros, this is Darkwing Duck and She-Ra.
